In the early 19th Century, Sandbach was an important coaching stop on the roads from London and Birmingham to Manchester and Liverpool.

Things have improved! Nowadays, Sandbach is well served by both road and rail links. It is about 6 miles from Crewe mainline station where Virgin West Coast and Virgin Cross Country rail services connect to most parts of the country. Other rail operators also provide services from Crewe.

Sandbach itself has a railway station on the Crewe to Manchester line and an hourly service operates. There is also a direct link to Manchester Airport.
